This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.
Several weeks ago, my family experienced a sudden and life-changing event. My 32-year-old son-in-law suffered a stroke and is now in a wheelchair. He and my daughter have two young children, and they need us in a way that only family can show up for. My other daughter, her son, and her fiancé also live in the same town of Big Spring, TX, and together we are rallying around them during this incredibly difficult season.
If you know me at all, you know how deeply committed I am to you and to the work I do. Serving you has never been “just a job” to me — it has been a calling and an honor. Because of that, I wrestled with the idea of keeping the clinic open part-time and traveling back and forth. I spent many tearful nights trying to convince myself I could somehow do both.
But after a lot of prayer, reflection, and honest conversations, I knew in my heart that I need to be fully present with my family in Texas. Once I’m there, I won’t be able to walk away from what they’re facing. They need me wholeheartedly — and that means I must make the difficult decision to permanently relocate.
Please know this was not an easy choice, especially because it affects you. You trusted me with your pain, your healing, your stories, and your time. That is something I have never taken lightly. Being part of your healing journey has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and you have impacted me more than you probably realize.
In the near future, I will be working on putting together a Self-Care Guide along with Zoom sessions to teach you practical ways to manage your own aches and pains. While I may not be physically present, my heart still wants to serve and support you however I can.
Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, your kindness, and the privilege of allowing me to care for you. You will always be part of my story.
With gratitude and love,
Stephanie Buss, LMT
